Mandy Edenfield Lewis Boyett

Mandy Edenfield Lewis Boyett

Mandy passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Born in Emanuel County, Georgia on March 6, 1930, Mandy was the fifth child of thirteen children born to the late Melton (Dock) and Vida Mae Edenfield.

In September of 1949 Mandy married James Robert Lewis and they resided in Ellabell, Georgia where they raised their children. They shared 39 years of life together until James’s death in December, 1988.

In 1992, Mandy married a long-time family friend, Clifford Boyett until his passing in 1994.

Mandy was a devoted and loving wife and mother, who worked hard all her life and helped instill that work ethic in her children. A Christian woman who truly exemplified the “hands and feet of Jesus,” she loved to volunteer and help neighbors in her community. She quickly won the hearts of all she met. Her home was always open to those in need as Mandy and James offered shelter to several members of their families and to friends. Mandy made many beautiful quilts which she generously gave away to family and friends. Known for her delicious pound cakes, you could share a slice of cake, a cup of coffee, and conversation with Mandy almost any time. She loved working in her yard, growing flowers and even grew a tangerine tree that produced sweet fruit. She was a member of Ellabell UMC and was a faithful servant as long as her health allowed.

In addition to her spouses, Mandy was preceded in death by her son, Jack Elton Edenfield, grandson, Wesley Edenfield, and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include Mandy’s children: daughter Janell (Dale Ward) of Greensboro, GA; son Roy Lewis (Jeff Pullium) of Augusta, GA, daughter Julie (Butch Boaen) of Savannah, GA., and daughter Sandra (Jimmy Fields) of Ellabell, GA. And daughter-in-law Connie Edenfield of Statesboro, GA. Also, grandchildren: Kevin Stewart, Ricky Kennedy, Neill Kennedy, Matthew Dutcher, Corey Pullium, Troy Edenfield, as well as many great-grands, several great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
