Blitchton- Maggie Mae “Doll” Bath Golding, age 94 passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Golding was born November 22, 1929 in Statesboro, GA to the late Benjamin Caine Bath and Maggie Mae Lanier Bath. Mrs. Golding was a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 40 years. She was a caregiver by nature and was a volunteer firefighter for Blitchton Fire Department until she was well into her 70s. She was a member at Olive Branch Baptist Church, where she was a involved in WMU and was a former Sunday School teacher. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Doll was preceded in death by her sons, Martin Benjamin Golding, David Ray Golding, Jr, Mickey Lamar Golding and Herman Lee Golding; brothers, Benjamin Bath, Sam Bath, John “Smokey” Bath, Donald Bath, Jimmy Bath, Jesse Bath, James Bath, Jack Bath and Herman Bath; sisters, Hazel Burnsed, Minnie Bath, Alene Bath, and Peggy Bath.
Survivors include her son, Joe Edward Golding, Sr. and his wife Bobbie J. of Blackshear; her daughter, Hazel Mae Golding of Brooklet; brother, Eugene Talmadge Bath of Blitchton; grandchildren, Joe E. Golding, Jr., Kelli Henderson, Donna Golding, Dawn Golding, Shawn Golding, Chris Golding, Michael Golding, Brian Golding, James Harris and Robert Smith and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held 3 P.M. Saturday, August 17, 2024 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Souther officiating.
