Mrs. Linda Viola Ollis, 87, passed away at Hospice of Savannah surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Mrs. Ollis was born on May 10, 1934 to the late James Holbert and Jewell Estell York Stanley in Huntsville, AL. She was employed for over 20 years as a manager at Krispy Chic and was affectionately known as The Chicken Lady. She was a member and former treasurer of Southland Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, canning, building bird houses, yard art, and loved her chickens, also known as “her girls”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Auston and great grandson, Bailey Teston.
Survivors include five children, Brenda Thompson Washington of Meldrim, Terry Lee Bloom (Kathy) of Sylvania, Connie Lee (Emory) of Pooler, Kathy Jones (Glenn) of Pt. Wentworth and Billy Ollis (Larry Boyd) of Clermont, FL; two sisters, Elizabeth Patterson of Boaz, AL and Jean Primm of Hazel Green, AL and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim, GA with Chaplain Archie Seabrooks officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Savannah, 1352 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
