Bloomingdale- Mrs. Linda Jo Thompson Powell, age 73, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at her home. Mrs. Powell was born November 26, 1949 to the late Moses Daniel Thompson and Elizabeth Charlotte Zettle Thompson in Savannah, GA. Mrs. Powell was a beautician and homemaker for many years and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She was also a member of the Daughters of Ireland and a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Richmond Hill. She dearly loved her family, especially her son, Chris and loved animals especially her beagle, Hootie.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Powell and her sister, Deborah Kay Thompson. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tina Myers of Guyton; her stepson William “David” Powell Jr of Savannah; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Robin and Bryan Long of Hampton, GA and Kim and Rick Gaouette of Hampton, GA; one sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia Ann and David Dix of Port Wentworth; numerous grandchildren including, Camden and Claire Myers; one aunt, Shirley Z. Miles; two nieces, Angie and DeDe; one nephew, Benji and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
A committal service for both Mrs. Linda Jo Powell and her husband, William “Bill” Powell will be held at Bonaventure Cemetery 11 A.M. Saturday June 3, 2023.
