Mr. Kennith Logan Lanier, Sr., 87, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Mr. Lanier was born in Statesboro to the late Elliott and Lurline Blitch Lanier on December 2, 1933. He worked for over 44 years as a pump operator with Union Camp and liked working in his vegetable garden and loved woodworking.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, JoAnn McLaughlin Lanier; sister, Bobbie McClellan and brother, Arnie C. Lanier.
Survivors include five sons, Kenny Lanier, James Curtis Lanier (Teresita), Lawrence A. Lanier (Jolene), John Randall Lanier and Andrew Lanier; one daughter, Karen Diane Lanier (Gary Moore); two brothers, Donald Lanier and Charles Lanier; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Morrison Memorial Chapel with Reverend Dan Bryant officiating.
Burial will follow at Ash Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
