Kay Butler Dickerson

Pembroke-  Mrs. Kay Butler Dickerson, age 69, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  Mrs. Butler was born December 30, 1953 in Statesboro, GA  to the late Osborn Butler and Ida Mae Sanders Butler.   She was a life-long resident of Pembroke and was a member of Lawrence Baptist Church.  Mrs. Dickerson worked at Pembroke Manufacturing and later cared for numerous children in her home.  She loved keeping the children, visiting with family and friends and time with her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dickerson was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Vald Dickerson and one sister, Kathy NeSmith.

Survivors include her children and their companions, Stephanie Leggett and Jason Blalock of Pembroke and Russell Dickerson and Christy Strickland of Pembroke; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Randall and Charlene Butler of Pembroke, Ray and Sherrie Butler of Pembroke and Robert C. “Pete” and Tina Butler of Pembroke; grandchildren, Mitch Marsh, Nathan Leggett, Brent Leggett, Austin Dickerson, Bradley Dickerson, Hannah Dickerson, Dalton Dickerson and Brenleigh Dickerson; great grandchildren, Teagan Marsh, Kaylee Marsh, Paislee Marsh, Riverlynn Dickerson and Reighlynn Dickerson and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 9 A.M. – 11 A.M. Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the funeral home. 

Funeral service will be held 11A.M. Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Bryant officiating.  Interment will follow in Lawrence Baptist Church Cemetery.
