Mr. Julius “Joey” William Johnson, Jr., 66, passed away at his residence on Tuesday evening, October 31, 2017. Mr. Johnson was born to the late Julius Williams Johnson, Sr. and Elizabeth "Bet-Bet" Johnson on December 18, 1950. A resident of Savannah, he was a graduate of Savannah High School, served in the U.S. National Guard and retired from the Savannah Fire Department with over 30 years of service as a Master Firefighter. Joey was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his dog Maggie; but most of all loved his family and his three daughters who were his whole life.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Baine Weber and Gail Woods.
Survivors include three daughters, Lanie Johnson of Savannah, Ashley Johnson Ezell and her husband Terry, Joey Heather Phillips and her husband Kent and their mother, Kathy Powell all of Savannah; grandson, Tanner Ezell of Savannah and brother, Barry Johnson of Savannah.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors.
