Mrs. Judy Kay Schexnayder, 70, passed away at Candler Hospital on Friday, May 8, 2020. Mrs. Schexnayder was born on December 29, 1949 to the late Edward L. and Dorothy Ferrell Tomlin in Starkville, MS. She was a member of Christ Baptist Church and was employed for 15 years with Chatham County Board of Education. Mrs. Schexnayder was a volunteer with United Way where she played a vital role helping to raise funds. She was a talented face painter for birthday parties, fairs and other events and painted murals in different pediatricians offices throughout Savannah. She enjoyed arts and crafts, loved gardening, planting flowers but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward L. and Dorothy Ferrell Tomlin.
Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, John Edward Schexnayder, Jr.; son, John Brian Schexnayder of Ellabell; daughter, Amy Goslee and her husband Brian of Plymouth, MA; brother, Ernest Tomlin of Starkville, MS; three sister-in-laws, Deborah Schexnayder of Tucson, AZ, Beth Dembovsky of Davisbur, MI and Laura Schexnayder of Savannah; two grandchildren, Kylie Kay Goslee and Kaden Goslee both of Plymouth, MA.
An outdoor memorial service will be held at Christ Baptist Church on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Tim Traywick officiating.
