Pembroke
Joseph F. Kendrick, Sr., age 76 passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mr. Kendrick was a life-long resident of Pembroke and retired after 34 years of service as supervisor for Iron Workers, Local 709. He was also the former owner and operator of NAPA in Pembroke and Joe’s Tire and Auto Repair. Mr. Kendrick enjoyed farming, previously served on the Bryan County Board of Commissioners, served in the Army National Guard, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Pembroke.
Mr. Kendrick was preceded in death by his parents, Lucius and Catherine Simmons Kendrick; two sisters, Louise Brown and Lois Free and two brothers, Lucius and Billy Kendrick.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Helen Johnson Kendrick of Pembroke; three sons, Joseph F. “Frankie” Kendrick, Jr. of Stilson, Freddy (Donna) Kendrick of Port Wentworth, Bobby Kendrick of Stilson and Eddie (Shannon) Turner of Ellabell; two daughters, Fredia McLamb of Stilson and Patti (Tony) Smith of Ellabell; one brother, Ricky (Louise) Kendrick of Pembroke; three sisters, Betty Ann Edwards of Garden City, Joyce Johnson of Ellijay and Mary (Wayne) Smith of Nevils; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Friday, February 3, 2017 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with interment to follow in Lawrence Baptist Church.
