Joseph "Joe" White Hood, Sr.

Pembroke-  Mr. Joseph “Joe” White Hood, Sr. age 75, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Hood was born in Statesboro, GA to the late Hugh Lawrence Hood, Jr. and Betty Adams Hood.  Mr. Hood was formerly co-owner of Georgia Electrical Supply and later was a horse trainer and farrier.  He loved barrel racing and trail riding and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.  

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Pat Helmey Hood of Pembroke; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Nicole Hood of Pembroke; two daughters and a son-in-law, Angie and Bobby Howard of Pembroke and Tammy Fowler of Rincon; one sister, Barbara Lanier of Nevils; three brothers, Jack Hood of Pembroke, H.L. Hood of Pembroke and Jimmy Hood of Pembroke; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, including Larry Leggett and his canine companion, Shadow

Visitation will be held 1-3 P.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the funeral home.

Funeral service will follow at 3 P.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Waymond Duke officiating and Rev. Dan Bryant assisting.
