John "Johnny" Givens Burnsed

Pembroke-  John Givens Burnsed “Johnny”, age 66, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  Mr. Burnsed was born in Savannah on January 9, 1956 to the late Hannie W. Burnsed, Sr. and Mary Futch Burnsed.  Johnny was a long-time resident of Pembroke and was a 1975 graduate of Bryan County High School.  He was an auto body technician for 47 years and loved the Gulf Coast, especially Sanibel and Captiva Island.  Johnny loved to salt water fish and was an excellent cook.  He had a green thumb, loved working in his yard, taking care of his flowers, and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.  He enjoyed spending time with his special nieces and nephews, Adelyn, Esley, Mick and Speir.

In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his son, Jared W. Burnsed.  Also predeceased are one brother, Freddie Burnsed; niece, Becky Burnsed and nephew, Fred Burnsed.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Jane Miller Burnsed of Pembroke; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Buddy and Lavone Burnsed of Groveland and Joey Burnsed of Pembroke; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Derrell Newman of Lanier, Joanne Burnsed of Pembroke and Joe and Angie Miller of Claxton;  and nieces and nephews, Myra and Mike Ammermon, Kathy Williams, Debbie and Brad Birchler, Joel and Liza Burnsed, Tab and Natalie Miller, T.J. and Heather Miller, and Tim and Macie Miller.

Visitation will be held 5-8 P.M. Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, March 30, 2022 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Elder Kurt Bacon officiating.
