Jim Paul Reese

Pembroke-  Mr. Jim Paul Reese, age 85 passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.  Mr. Reese was born October 23, 1937 to the late Ira Seaborne Reese and Maryann Duke Reese.  In his early years, he worked on the lumberyard at Broady Plywood and later at Pembroke Propane Company.  He retired after many years of service with the Georgia Department of Transportation.  Mr. Reese was a member of The Bridge Church and was a member of the Cornerstone Sunday School Class.  He enjoyed fishing and camping and loved to work in his yard.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Reese was preceded in death by his wife of over 61 years, Mrs. Dorothy Padgett Reese; three sisters, Oree Horton, Louis Love and Betty Kersey; five brothers, Beamus Reese, Henry Reese, Joseph Edward Reese, John Lee Reese and Arthur Lee Reese and one grandson, Ricky Reese, Jr.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Reese Powell of Pembroke; two sons, Wayne Reese of Pembroke and Ricky Reese of Rincon; grandchildren, Beverly Kennedy, Josh Reese, Greggory Reese, Ashley Reese, Tiffany Reese Ashley Williams, Angela King, Anthony Lallak and Chasitie Jackson and great grandchildren, Nevaeh Hendrix, Rose Kennedy and Dalton Kennedy.

Visitation will be held 11 A.M. – 1 P.M Friday, February 3, 2023 at the funeral home.

Funeral service will follow 1 P.M. Friday, February 3, 2023 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Dr. Lawrence Butler officiating.

Interment will be 3:30 P.M. Friday, February 3, 2023 in Lyons City Cemetery.
