Mrs. Jetta Ellis Foxworth Strickland, 86, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at her residence. She was a member of Pembroke Christian Church with over 65 years of faithful service, a clerk and treasurer for 50 years with Bryan County Commissioners Office, office manager for Georgia Department of Corrections, and served as Civil Defense Director for Bryan County. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, yard work and her rose garden.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years George Winton Foxworth and husband, Joseph Allen Strickland; parents, Harrison Ellie Ellis, and Bertie Glisson Ellis; and brother, Charles D. Ellis.
She is survived by two sons; George Mikell Foxworth (Vicki), and Douglas Ellis Foxworth (Tracey); daughter, Penny F. Williams (Wilson); four grandchildren, Shaun Page, Holly Veal, Sarah Shuman, and Eli Foxworth; two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Audrey Page.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the funeral home from 5 – 8 P.M.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 in the funeral home chapel at 11 A.M. with Rev. Jim Sulivan officiating.
Burial will follow at Northside Cemetery.
