Jerry Collins

Pembroke-  Jerry Gene Collins, age 63, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022.  Mr. Collins was born in Pembroke to the late Mandel Collins and Katie Crosby Collins.  He was a 1977 graduate of Bryan County High School and was retired with 20 years of service as a machine operator for Georgia Pacific and 10 years with International Paper.  Mr. Collins was a member of Black Creek Holy Church of God; enjoyed camping, fishing and watching westerns.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Janet Newman Collins; one daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Logan MacDonald of Bryan, TX; adopted sons, Craig Crosby and Alan Crosby, both of Metter; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Judy Collins of Pembroke and Eddie and Dorrie Collins of Pembroke; two sisters, Geraldine Roberts of Pembroke and Jenny Thompson of Metter; and 11 grandchildren, William MacDonald, Joshua Crosby, Jordan Crosby, Jared Crosby, Kailynn Crosby, Alexis Crosby, Trevor Crosby, Zachary Crosby, Anna Stevens, Brittany Barnard and Corey Barnard.

Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 7, 2022 at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 8, 2022 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Royce Hendry officiating.  Interment will follow in Ellabell United Methodist Church.
