Janet Tonsing

Mrs. Janet Tonsing, age 66, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Tonsing was born to the late Louise Schwertzler and Lois Kendricks Schwertzler on August 29, 1958 in Statesboro. She worked as a custodian for many years at various hotels and enjoyed puzzle books, riding bicycles, watching Renegade or Chuck Norris and spending time with her cat, Angel. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her sister, Linda Powell and husband of over 20 years, Jimmy “James” Tonsing.

Survivors include her two brothers, Bobby Webb of Brunswick and Sammy Edwards of Goshen, Al; three sisters, Lisa Squire and her husband Todd of Statesboro, Diane Hodges of Statesboro and Janice Sims of Baxley and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
