Mrs. Robbie Janette “Jan” Shuman, 73, passed away Sunday morning at Ogeechee Area Hospice. Mrs. Shuman was a district comptroller for Sears. She was a member of Claxton Church of God, enjoyed shopping, her flower garden and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Franklin Pierce “Buddy” Shuman; parents, Clyde Thomas Hammond and Nita Earl Milton Hamilton; brothers Michael Wayne Hammond and Thomas Gordon Hammond; son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Belinda Shuman; sister and brother-in-law, Anita E. and Jack L. Barrand.
Survivors include son, Michael Shuman and wife Shelia of Reidsville; grandchildren, Kyle Shuman, Chelsey Shuman, Thomas “Tommy” Shuman and Elizabeth Dixon; niece and nephew Vicki and Michael Tibbs and several great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 5 – 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held 1:30 Thursday April 30, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gregory Ely and Reverend Leland Jeffers officiating.
Burial will at 3 P.M. at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Glennville. Memorial contributions may be made to Claxton Church of God,
