Ellabell

Ellabell-  James Clyde New, age 74 passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home after an extended illness.  Mr. New was born October 3, 1947 in Savannah to the late Charles LeRoy New and Annie Grace Boyles New.  He was a long-time resident of Ellabell and was retired from Sears as assistant manager of shipping and receiving with over 33 years of service.  Mr. New enjoyed fishing and camping, loved the mountains and the beach and was a member of The Bridge Church of Pembroke.  In addition to his parents, Mr. New was preceded in death by his sisters, Frances Williams, Dorothy Rudolph, Mary Ann Simmons and Virginia New.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Faye Miller New of Ellabell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheri and Richard Colson of Savannah and Angela and Christopher Fisher of Statesboro; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Linda New of Ellabell; grandchildren Sierra Tatusko and her husband, Ryan, Lindsey Fisher and Connor Fisher and one great granddaughter, Palmer Grace Tatusko.

A graveside service will be held 3 P.M. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Bulloch Memorial Gardens in Statesboro with Dr. Lawrence Butler officiating.
