Mr. James Allen Bath, Sr., 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Ogeechee Area Hospice. Mr. Bath was born on January 20, 1937 to the late Benjamin “Son” and Maggie Lanier Bath in Grovetown, GA. He was a longtime member of Old Fellowship Baptist Church and retired after 44 years of service with Union Camp. He was a member of the Local Union 26, International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and Shipbuilders. Mr. Bath enjoyed hunting, fishing, waterskiing and woodworking. He made porch swings for many friends and family members. He also was a bus driver for the S.E. Bulloch Marching Band. Family always came first to Mr. Bath and he spent his life devoted to taking care of his family, especially his mother in her last years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Bonnie E. Moody Bath; sons, James Allen Bath, Jr. (Sherry) of Pembroke, Stephen Bath of Stilson and Tommy Bath (Shirley) of Stilson; brother, Gene Bath of Blitchton; sister, Maggie “Doll” Golding of Blitchton; grandchildren, Adam Bath, Rebekah Pollard, Chris Bath, Mandy Beasley, Matthew Bath, Andrew Fry and Wendall Fry and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Old Fellowship Baptist Church from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
Funeral will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Doctor Reland Morgan and Reverend Chuck Beaver officiating.
Burial will follow at the Old Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.
