Mrs. Jacquelyn “Jackie’ Crosby Lanier, age 78, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Resorts at Pooler. Mrs. Lanier was born on February 16, 1944 to the late James Randall and Margarite Davis Crosby in Statesboro. Mrs. Lanier was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and The Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, making pecan pies and divinity and spent her life taking care of her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Truman Eldred Lanier; son, Mark Eldred Lanier; brother, George Randall Crosby and sister, Bobbie Jean Butler.
Survivors include her son, Truman Avery Lanier of Pembroke; three daughters, Jacquelyn “Cissy” Scarlett Lanier Taylor and her husband Toma of Baxley, Melody Hunt and her husband Donnie of Pembroke and Alexis “Paige” Lanier and her fiancé David Tolbert of Pembroke; daughter-in-law, Paula Lanier of Stilson; thirteen grandchildren, Logan Lanier, Lilly Lanier, Jackie Dwight Lanier, Avery Blaze Lanier, Chase Tanner Hunt, Dalton “Gage” Hunt, Avery Jace Yates, Raelynn Jade Yates, Weston James Yates, Ryder Lawson Tolbert, Steven Tolbert, Devin Tolbert and Chelsea Bowen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dan Bryant officiating.
Burial will follow at Ash Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
