Bloomingdale- Henry Kenchen Barnes, 88, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at his home after an extended illness. Mr. Barnes was born Sept. 4, 1929 in Uvalda, GA to the late William Oliver Barnes and Annie Eliza Johnson Barnes. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served two tours of duty in Korea. Mr. Barnes retired as a crane operator with over 40 years of service with Diamond Manufacturing. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God and enjoyed gardening and riding motorcycles.
Survivors include his sons, David Barnes of Ellabell and Walter Messex of Guyton; daughters, Carol McClain of Texas and Wanda Inglett of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Billy Barnes, Tony Barnes, Jessica Chavez, Christy Phillips, Cody Messex, and Ashley Shaw; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11am Friday, April 27, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery on Littleneck Road with military honors. Rev. Kenny Harrelson will be officiating. To sign the online register, please visit www.flandersmorrisonfuneralhome.com.
