Mr. Hayden Howard DeLand, age 62, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Mr. DeLand was born in Syracuse, NY on January 1, 1960 to the late Howard Edward and Jeanette Kahilu Bush DeLand. He retired after 23 years of faithful service in the U.S. Army and was deployed to Desert Storm and Iraq. He later worked as a paint stripper for seven years at Duramatic and Rotary Corporation. Mr. DeLand was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where he helped with Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. He enjoyed working on his truck, yard work and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Edward and Jeanette Kahilu Bush DeLand.
Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Cheryl DeLand; daughter and son-in-law, Gavriella Napua DeLand-Fitting and her husband Kaleb of Rochester, MN; sister, Joanell Uilani DeLand of Syracuse, NY; three grandchildren, Eli Thomas Flood, Parker Ray Fitting and Avery Howard Fitting and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Beulah Baptist Church.
Memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dan Bryant officiating.
Burial will be private.
