Gwendolyn Denise Kuzma Thompson

Meldrim- Mrs. Gwendolyn Denise Kuzma Thompson, age 70, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at her home while under the care of hospice. Mrs. Thompson was born in Savannah, GA to the late John Paul Kuzma and Virginia Crown Kuzma. She retired from FedEx, where she was a driver and loader of express packages. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Sandhill Baptist Church since 2010. She was active in her Sunday School class and with Women On Missions. She enjoyed cross stitching, crafts and enjoyed time with family and her two canine companions, Runt and Hot Shot. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Mr. Elbert Thompson, Sr.; one brother, Buddy Kuzma and two sisters, Suzanna Cowart and Anne Kirby.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law Elbert “Buddy” Thompson, Jr. and Rachel Thompson of Meldrim and John Paul “J.P.” and Kelly Thompson of Johnson Creek, WI; grandchildren, Zackary Thompson, Shelby Thompson and Katy Grace Thompson and nieces and nephews, Nancy and Ernie Kirby and Jackie and Dave Engelmann.

Visitation will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, November 11, 2024 at Sandhill Baptist Church in Guyton.

Funeral service will follow at 3 P.M. Monday, November 11, 2024 at Sandhill Baptist Church with Dr. Darren Thomas officiating. 

Interment will be in Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
