Gloria Faye Powell Grizzard

Mrs. Gloria Faye Powell Grizzard, age 63, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Hospice Savannah. Mrs. Grizzard was born in Statesboro, GA on May 28, 1961 to the late Sidney Powell, Sr. and Mildred Altman Powell. She enjoyed calling bingo, watching the Georgia Bulldogs play and spending time with her family, children and grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Powell and sister, Joan Shaw.

Survivors include one son, Harold James Grizzard, Jr. of Stilson; daughter, Ashley Nicole Grizzard Rivera of Savannah; three brothers, Sidney Powell, Jr. of Elizabethton, TN, Lawrence Powell of Bloomingdale ad Bruce Powell of Savannah; three sisters, Mary Barber of Statesboro, Brenda Fadden of Statesboro and Emily Harrison of Portal and two grandchildren, Aubrie Nicole Burch and Carly Gabriella Burch. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home. 

Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Josh Parker officiating.

Burial will be held at Northside Cemetery.
