Mrs. Gladys Irene Hodges Reid, age 87, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022. Mrs. Reid was born in Claxton on April 14,1935 to the late Levi and Eva “Minnie” Roberts Hodges. She worked for over 10 years as a seamstress at Pembroke Manufacturing Company and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Reid enjoyed flowers, watching t.v., talking about fishing and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jenice “Jim” Reid; son, Timothy James Lee; two brothers, Tommy J. Hodges and Floyd Hodges; three sisters, Edna Mae Lamb, Dorothy Sapp and Georgie Fay Hodges; half-brothers, Josh Hodges, James Hodges and Henry Levy Hodges; half-sisters, Edna Dunkin, Ruby Garvin, Ruhanna Keel and Videllia Sapp.
Survivors include her four daughters, Cynthia Harn and her husband David, Bonnie Glisson and her husband Joe Davis, Kathy George and her husband Denny and Earnestine Peoples and her husband Kenny; daughter-in-law, Debbie Lee; stepson, Randy Reid and his wife Candy; stepdaughter, Tina Barnett and her husband Mike; two sisters, Shirley Sikes, Carol Dubberly and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Russell Rogers officiating.
Bural will proceed at Northside Cemetery.
