Mrs. Gladys K. Caldwell, 78, passed away after a long illness at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday, May 28, 2020. Mrs. Caldwell was born in Smyth County Virginia on March 10, 1942 to the late Luther and Sue Byrd King. She owned and operated her own graphic design company, Champion Forms for 7 years, was a member of First Baptist Church of Pembroke, enjoyed planting flowers, gardening but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Leonard Caldwell, I.; son, Bruce “Tony” Caldwell and two sisters, Pat Sarver and Betty Ray.
Survivors include her son, Leonard “Sam” Caldwell, III. of Ellabell; three daughters, Angela “Angel” Culpepper and her husband Robert of Guyton, Joy Crow and her husband Jeff of Richmond Hill and Tammy Patton and her husband Tommy of Virginia; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private family visitation will be held at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Abbey West with Doctor Brad Butler officiating.
