Georgia Carol Bazemore Bechtel

Mrs. Georgia Carol Bazemore Bechtel, age 78, passed away at East Georgia Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Bechtel was born in Bluffton, Oh to the late Leroy Bazemore and Edna Marion Culp Bazemore on October 11, 1945. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pembroke where she was a member of the choir and was involved with the youth children at church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Anspach and brother, Leroy Bazemore.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Bruce Walter Bechtel; two daughters, Sharon Clark and her husband Sonny and Ruth Austin all of Pembroke; two sisters, Frances Bukowiec of Pembroke and Rose Alred and her husband Tracy of Savannah; four grandchildren, Tony Clark, Marhia Clark, Cynthia Jones and her husband Phillip and Elizabeth Austin; four great grandchildren, Elliot Gilbert, James Rice, Nora Rice and Indie Jones and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Albert Hill officiating.
