George Langwood Oglesby, Jr.

George Langwood Oglesby Jr. of Kildare, Georgia went to be with the Lord on June 7th, 2024 at his home under the care of his loving family and Ogeechee Area Hospice and his special nurse Irina. 

 

He was born in Rincon, Georgia to the late George Langwood Oglesby Sr. and Doxie Faulkner Oglesby. 
 

He is survived by his 3 children Tracy, Steven (Carol), and Brent - 10 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren. A brother, Dale Oglesby (Susanne) brother-in-law, Dillard Helmly, sister-in-law Kay Helmly Kitchens, lots of cousins, nieces, and nephews. 
 

He belonged to Mizpah Church where he was a devoted member of the choir and a faithful servant. He founded Oglesby Septic Tank Company in 1968 and installed tanks in Effingham and surrounding counties for over 50 years. 
 

He enjoyed many things in his lifetime - Hunting, fishing, camping, crabbing, playing golf, Nascar, Tybee, The Savannah River, playing the banjo, Atlanta Braves games, and supporting Donald Trump, most of all he enjoyed being with his family. 

 

He was a true legend to his children, grandchildren, and many more and always will be. 

 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mizpah Church, Ogeechee Area Hospice. 

 

Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Mizpah Church, 122 Mizpah Road, Clyo, GA 31303

 

Burial will be private.
