Mr. George Mikell Foxworth, 61, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hosptial Monday, January 12, 2016. Mr. Foxworth was born in Statesboro on August 17, 1954 to the late George Winton and Jetta Ellis Foxworth Strickland. He was a member of Pembroke Christian for over 50 years, was the camp director for Chi-rho at Kicklighter Christian Camp at Shellman’s Bluff. He worked as a Code Enforcement for the City of Pembroke, road construction for the Department of Transportation and currently worked in the pro shop at Black Creek Golf Course . He loved to sing, playing his guitar, officiated and coached high school and recreation sports and enjoyed playing softball, golf and tennis.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vivian “Vicki” Hagin Foxworth “daughter and son-in-law, Holly Veal and her husband Daniel; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas Ellis Foxworth and his wife Tracey; sister and brother-in-law, Penny F. Williams and her husband Wilson and grandson Harrison all of Pembroke.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
