Froilan "Freddy" Arias, Sr.

Froilan “Freddy” Arias, Sr., age 81, passed away suddenly at his residence on Monday, February 19, 2024. Mr. Arias was born in Boyacá, Columbia to the late Damaso Arias and Refugio Rodriguez Arias on April 26, 1942. He worked as a locksmith for over 20 years with The Mount Sinai Hospital in NY and was a member of Christ Baptist Church. Mr. Arias enjoyed playing dominos, watching karate movies, cutting grass, studying his Bible and watching sports, especially his favorite time, the Dallas Cowboys. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kezia Arias; three brothers, Miguel Arias, Pablo Arias and Ubaldo Arias and four sisters, Isabel Arias, Carmen Arias, Araminta Arias and Emparo Arias. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Ada Maldonado Arias; son, Froilan Arias, Jr. and his wife Ivette of NY; daughter, Ada Liza Vargas and her husband Luis of Palm Bay, FL; sister, Bertha McIntyre of CT; five grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at 11:00a.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Traywick officiating.

Burial will be held at Bethany Church of Ellabell.
