Crescent- Frank Wendell Ussery, age 68, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 at his home. Mr. Ussery was born in Savannah to the late Herbert Wimberly Ussery and Mrs. Eloise Sherrod Ussery. He was veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired after 24 years of Civil Service as a utility systems operator at Ft. Stewart. Mr. Ussery later worked on an off shore dredge and was an accomplished sailor. He once sailed out of the Port of Savannah and circumnavigated the Bahamas alone.
Survivors include his mother Eloise Sherrod Ussery of Crescent; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Diane Ussery of Townsend; one sister, Linda Brown of Guyton; one nephew, William Ussery, Jr. of Savannah and one niece, Samantha Runkle of Rincon.
A graveside service will be held 3 P.M. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
