Mrs. Frances Louise Cole Black, age 74, passed away at Ogeechee Area Hospice on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Mrs. Black was born in Savannah to the late James Leroy Cole, Jr. and Frances Tapley Cole on March 11, 1950. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was retired from Principal Insurance Company as an office assistant. Mrs. Black enjoyed crocheting, watching game shows and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde W. Black, Jr. and son, Patrick Willis Black.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia A. Black of Ellabell; sister, Bernadette “Bernie” Cole Strickland of Richmond Hill; brother, James Leroy “Bubba” Cole and his wife Shirley of Manchester, TN; special daughters, Melissa Champagne of Effingham and Peggy Poole of Portal; special grandchildren, Aiden, Owen and Macie; her canine babies, Mini, Taffy and Toffee and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be held on 11 A.M. Monday, April 1, 2024 at Northside Cemetery with Father Tom Murphy officiating.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Frances’ special caregivers, Linda Kilmer and Karen Atkinson.
