Mrs. Faye L. Whitaker, 66, won her battle with cancer and made it to the pearly gates of Heaven on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Ogeechee Area Hospice.  Mrs. Whitaker was born in Bulloch County to the late David Cecil and Bertha Futch Lanier on July 31, 1949. She enjoyed crafts such as sewing and woodworking and she had a very strong faith in God, loved her family and her pets, and enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing.

Mrs. Whitaker was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Dewey Ray Whitaker, Jr. and son, Michael Albritton.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Eric D. and Kathy Whitaker of Pooler; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy L. and Shawn Starke of Stilson; brothers Harold Lanier of Portal, Roger Lanier of Baton Rouge; sisters, Marie Smith and B.K. Haire both of Bulloch County;  grandchildren, Jessica and Amanda Whitaker-Fortson of Atlanta, Bethany Starke of Farmington, MO, Erika and J.J. Beckman of Blue Springs, MO, Hannah Starke of Warrenburg, MO, Philip Welsh and Ryan Starke both of Stilson; five great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 10 -11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jake Futch officiating.

Burial will be held following the service at 3 p.m. in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Vidalia, GA.
