Eugene Burnsed, Sr.

Ellabell

Mr. Eugene Burnsed, Sr., age 79, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center while surrounded by his family.  Mr. Burnsed was a native of Bulloch County and a member of the first graduating class of Southeast Bulloch High School.  He was a deacon of First Baptist Church of Ellabell and was well-known for his banana pudding at church dinners.  He retired as a long-time iron worker and forman with decades of service with TIC.  Mr. Burnsed was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener and loved spending time with his family.  He is predeceased by his parents, Coy and Ollie May Burnsed, his wife of 49 years, JoAnn Lee Burnsed, one sister, Joanne Shead, and three brothers, Charles, Richard, and Billy Burnsed.

Survivors include his wife, Dale Waters Burnsed of Brooklet; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Eugene Burnsed, Jr. of Pembroke and Joseph Randall and Lisa Burnsed of Ellabell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lora Ann and Charles Kangeter, of Black Creek and April Jean and Mark McDowell, Sr.of Stilson; eight grandchildren, Rachel Postell, Crystal Dunkle, Randi Burnsed, Joseph Burnsed, Steven Burnsed, Randy Lynn Burnsed, Mark McDowell, Jr. and Shelby McDowell and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home from 6-9 P.M Monday, July 18, 2016.

Mr. Burnsed will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.

Funeral service will be 11 a m Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Ellabell with Rev. Bob Crosby and Rev. D.L. Rollins officiating.

Interment will follow in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.

Memorial contribution may be made to First Baptist Church of Ellabell.
