Mrs. Doris Lovett Underwood, 87, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Camilla Health and Rehab in Claxton. Mrs. Underwood was born on September 11, 1930 to the late J.R. and Mary Ann Scott Lovett in Sylvania. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blitchton and retired as a cook from Your House Restaurant. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, dancing, was a cat lover and was an avid music fan of such artists as Elvis Presley, Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline just to name a few.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Y.D. Underwood; son, Melford Lee Underwood; two brothers, J.D. Lovett and John Willie Lovett and three sisters, Ella Beasley, Mildred Holland and Minnie Jackson.
Survivors include one son, Dave McCorkle of TX; two daughters, Margaret Kernstein and her husband John of Ellabell and Ollie Zudor of Savannah; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
