Mrs. Doris Smith Dickerson, 88, passed away at her residence on Sunday, November 8, 2020 while surrounded by her family. Mrs. Dickerson was born in Brooklet on November 6, 1932 to the late Charlie and Lillie Mitchell Smith. She was a devoted and loving homemaker; who enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and walking. She loved being outdoors and working in her yard. Mrs. Dickerson loved her family very much and would do anything for them at the drop of a hat.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dickerson; son, Hal Dickerson; father, Charlie Smith; mother, Lillie Mitchell Smith; step-mother, Sarah D. Smith; two brothers, Calvin Smith and John Smith and three sisters, Joann Smith Canada, Edna Smith Davis and Audrey Smith Davis.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Evette Bennett (Garland) of Pembroke; brother and sister-in-law, Steve Smith (Darlene) of Meldrim, GA; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Saralyn Wells of Pembroke, Elizabeth Sailor (Ralph) of Black Creek and Debbie Myers (Junior) of Pembroke; two granddaughters, Kimberly Bennet Jackson (Maurice) of Statesboro and Karey Bennett Butler of Pembroke five great-grandchildren, Justin Jackson (Anna), Hilarie Jackson, Ashlyn Butler, Grayson Butler and Jarrett Butler and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church with Reverend Dan Bryant and Reverend Alfred Banks officiating.
Burial will follow at Ash Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 the funeral home will limit the amount of guest in the building at one time and ask that guest practice social distancing as well. Face mask are mandatory inside the funeral home.
