Danny Cox

Ellabell-  Danny Lamar Cox, age 73, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at Candler Hospital.  Mr. Cox was born in Collins, GA to the late Charlton Cox and Dora Calloway Cox.  He was a foreman for the Sheet Metal Workers Local No. 85, and later made many friends serving as a greeter at Sam’s Club and delivering parts for O’Reilly’s Auto Parts.  Mr. Cox was a long-time member of Faulkville Baptist Church, loved to fish and watch wrestling and was huge fan of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Humphries and four brothers, Timothy Cox, Wesley Cox, Jimmy Cox and Charles Cox.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Brenda Newman of Ellabell; daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Stan Epperson of Ellabell; four sisters, Judy Sims, Marth Heberle, Geraldine Cox and Peggy Mathis; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held 5-8 P.M. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held 11 A.M. Friday, October 15, 2021 at Lower Black Creek Cemetery with Rev. Thomas “Chad” Vanderburg officiating.
