Mr. Curtis Lee Carter, 61, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Carter was born in Claxton to William H. Carter, Jr. and Joy Carter Winter. He was a lifelong carpenter, enjoyed fishing and music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William H. Carter, Jr. and Joy Carter Winter; three brothers, James Carter, Chester Carter and Craig Carter.
Survivors include his son, Christopher Carter of Athens; daughter, Karen Puchala and her husband William of Brooklet; sister, Jean Carter Adams and her husband Dean of Pembroke; three grandchildren, Catherine Puchala of Brooklet, Sierra Carter of Athens and Jay Carter of Swainsboro and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 1 -2 p.m. at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating.
Burial will be private.
