Pembroke
Mrs. Cora Lee Owens, age 74 passed away Wednesday evening at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Owens was a long-time resident of Pembroke and was a homemaker. She was a member of Pembroke United Methodist Church, loved taking care of her flowers, and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Owens was predeceased by her parents, Bruce William and Lorena Futch Bishop and her husband Kenneth Owens.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, James and Lisa Bacon of Richmond Hill and Calvin Bacon of Pembroke; daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Danny Shuman of Pembroke and Janice and David Rouse of Statesboro; brother and sisters-in-law, Larry and Linda Bishop, Pearl Hagan, Gwen (David) Strickland, Ellen Evans, Martha Umberger and Nilaree Thomas; grandchildren, Jennifer and Nick Stockford, Holly and Jason NeSmith, Keith and Kayla Shuman, Austin Rouse, and Katie Bacon; great grandchildren, Rileigh, Alex, Kirsten, Kase and Kinslee and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held 5-8 P.M. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Saturday, July 9, 2016 in the Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Bryant officiating.
Interment will follow in Northside Cemetery.
