Charles Ray Sheffield

Mr. Charles Ray Sheffield, age 64, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Mr. Sheffield was born in Savannah to the late James Henry Sheffield and Essie Pauline Vincent Veenstra on February 25, 1960. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a lifelong roofer and plumber. Mr. Sheffield enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved giving those he cared about a “hard time”. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry Sheffield and Essie Pauline Vincent Veenstra and brother, James Daniel Sheffield, Sr.

Survivors include his sister, Dorothy Paulette Sheffield of Bloomingdale; two brothers, David R. Veenstra and Edward Veenstra both of Bloomingdale and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
