Mr. Charles Edward NeSmith, Sr., 70, passed away after a sudden illness at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Mr. NeSmith, Sr. was born on January 23, 1946 in Savannah, Ga. He was a truck driver with APAC for 15 years, was of the Baptist by faith, enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by four brothers, James NeSmith, Den NeSmith, Johnny NeSmith and Ervin NeSmith; three sisters, Christen Lively, Annie NeSmith and Jeanette Aldredge.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Cheryl Elizabeth NeSmith; son, Charles E. “Bo” NeSmith, Jr. and his wife Leeann of Rincon; daughter, Sarah NeSmith Cook and her husband Keith of Pembroke; brother, Clyde NeSmith and his wife Mary of Hopewell, VA; sister, Mary Howard of Bloomingdale; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 11 -12 p.m. at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 12 p.m. in the Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at Northside Cemetery.
