Cathy Cowart

Pembroke-  Cathy Shuman Cowart, age 67, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at her home.  Mrs. Cowart was born June 16, 1954 in Statesboro, GA to the late Everett Gordon Shuman and Helen Louise Akins Shuman.  Mrs. Cowart was retired from the clerical office of Georgia Pacific and was a member of New Vision Baptist Church.  She loved her animals and doing crafts, but most important to her were her two granddaughters, Amber and Callie.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cowart was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gary Cowart.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Erich Neuroth of Pembroke; two granddaughters, Amber Shaye Neuroth and Callie Denise Neuroth of Pembroke; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Billy Hughes of Rincon, Brian and Kristeen Wilson of Pembroke and Jeffrey Hughes of Augusta; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Robyn and Steven Martin of Pembroke and Jennifer and Kevin Gray of Bulloch County.

Visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 18, 2021 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Rogers officiating.  Interment will follow in Ash Branch Cemetery.
