Carolyn Simons

Mrs. Carolyn Ruth Simons, age 69, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Mrs. Simons was born in Long Island, NY to the late William Duncan and Ruth Caroline Oestmann Campbell on October 5, 1952. She served in the U.S. Army and later received her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida.

Mrs. Simons was a loving, caring and devoted house wife taking care of her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Duncan and Ruth Caroline Oestmann Campbell.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Steve Simons; daughter, Stephanie Simons of Savannah; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Capper and her husband Thomas of Pembroke, Michael Whitley of Pembroke and great grandson, James Capper of Pembroke; sister, Nancy Cabrera and her husband Ricky of Loxahatchee, FL and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Burial will be held at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville at a later date.
