Ellabell- Mrs. Carolyn Virginia Stouffer Babington Cox, age 80, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Candler Hospital. Mrs. Cox was born in Hagerstown, MD to the late George Washington Stouffer and Madeline Virginia Ruth Stouffer on May 23, 1944. She was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School was a former member of the National Baton Twirling Organization. Mrs. Cox was in chemical production and retired after 30 years of service with E.M. Industries. She was the founder and director of Carolyn’s Challengers Majorette Group in Funkstown, MD for over 25 years. Mrs. Cox enjoyed camping, crab fishing, and had a love for animals. Mrs. Cox was a member of Crossroads Church in Guyton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington Stouffer and Madeline Virginia Ruth Stouffer.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald L. Cox, Jr. and Dara Cox of Guyton; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Charles Butler of Pembroke; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Melinda and Ray Kitchen of Martinsburg, WVA and Patricia Glisson of Rincon; two grandchildren, Kirston Waters and her husband Ian and Jessica Cox; and two great grandchildren, Eipperle Waters and Benjamin Waters.
A memorial service will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Crossroads Church in Guyton with Pastor George Pabst officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Church, 3469 Courthouse Road, Guyton, GA 31312.
