Brenda France

Pembroke-  Mrs. Brenda Aldrich France, age 69 passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at her home while surrounded by her family.  Mrs. France was born in Pembroke, GA to the late Freddie Aldrich and Lillian Nesmith Aldrich.  She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Brenda worked in many different occupational fields including waitressing, law enforcement, business owner, Army post exchange manager and mayor.  Mrs. Brenda was a member of Sikes Chapel.  She loved working in her yard and garden, cake decorating, woodwork crafts, sewing, baking, and most of all, shopping.  Mrs. France became part of the Owens Supply Company family serving our community for many years as the showroom and hardware supervisor.  Brenda was a military spouse and her community service and cake decorating talents were well known throughout the military communities.  She was known as the Single Soldier’s Mom and always made sure they had a family Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday at her home.  If a single soldier was sick, she would take chicken soup to the barracks earning her the name of “Soup Lady Mom”.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. France was preceded in death by her son, Joseph France, step mother, Betty Aldrich; grandchildren, Montecella, Melissa, Heather and Danny.

Survivors include her husband, Jesse W. France; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Derrick Arthur; sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Robin Martin and Jack and Mita Martin, and Jason Martin; one sister, Wanda Callaway; one step sister, Glenda Hewett; grandchildren, Bradley, Andrew, Cynthia, Hailey, Luke, Taylor, Kristofer, Amber, Angel, Dayton, Jobie, Maya, Sammie, Jessie, Jacob, Karla, and Brian and several great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 10 -11 A.M. Monday, February 6, 2023.

A memorial service will  follow at 11 A.M. in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Jordan McCoy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, her wish was to donate to the Bryan County Band Uniform (Pride of the Tribe) Fundraiser, Pembroke, GA
