Billy Gene Bashlor, Jr.

Pembroke- Billy Gene Bashlor, Jr., age 52, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Candler Hospital after an extended illness. Gene was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Billy Gene Bashlor, Sr. and Charlotte Winter. He was a 1990 graduate of Bryan County High School and was an excellent cook. Gene was an avid sports fan and had a wealth of knowledge on past and present football and basketball statistics, both professional and college. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brother, Trey Bashlor; stepmother, Judy Bashlor; grandparents, Travis and Lavonne Bashlor and Joe and Eloise Winter and Joy Carter Winter.

Survivors include his aunts and uncles, Beth Hughes of Pembroke, Amy Winter Thompson of Pembroke, Joe E. Winter, Jr. and Lisa Winter of Richmond Hill, Edward Winter of Pembroke, Eddie and Elaine Smith of Ellabell and Gail Todd of Ellabell; one niece, Charlie Bashlor Caracol of Mississippi; one great niece, Wesley Cooper of Mississippi and sister-in-law, Jenny Stone of Midway and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held 6 P.M. Friday, January 24, 2025 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
