Betty White

Groveland-  Betty L. White, age 81 passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020.  Mrs. White was born in 1938 in Norton, VA to the late Clarence and Della Greear Absher.  Mrs. White was a long-time resident of Groveland and retired from lunchroom service at Lanier Primary School.  She was also a dedicated volunteer at the Bryan County Thrift Shop and Foodbank.

Survivors include her daughters Dee Dee (Terry) Jones of Norton, VA and Tammy (Mark) Wells of Savannah; brothers Gene (Shirley) Absher, Melvin (Delores) Absher and Darrell Absher, all of Norton, VA, sisters Loretta McCullough of Sandusky, OH and Barbara (Kathy Cox) Gilley of Lyons; grandchildren Allison (Bob) Robbins of Coeburn, VA, Kinney (Amelia) Wells of Savannah and Nathan Jones of Abingdon, VA; great grandchildren, Charlie Robbins and Maggie Robbins of Coeburn, VA and McKenna Wells of Savannah; sisters-in-law, Wanda Absher Mullins and Brenda Absher of Norton, VA; Frances White, Mary White, and Barbara White of Ellabell, Lucille Danielson of Port Wentworth and Bonnie White of Alabama.

A private memorial service will be held Friday, April 10, 2020 at the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating.  Interment will follow in First Baptist Ellabell Cemetery.
