Pembroke- Beatrice Cooper Tassell, age 88 passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Metter, Ga. Mrs. Tassell was born in Middleburg, KY on October 20, 1933 to the late George Riley Cooper and Lonnie Wall Cooper. Mrs. Tassell was a waitress and cook and worked with Captain Cook’s, Quality Inn, The Oyster House, Shoney’s and Red Lobster in Jacksonville, FL. She enjoyed shopping and reading, loved working puzzles and was a member of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tassell was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert Milton Tassell; two sons, Robert Milton Tassell, II and Michael Ray Tassell; and three sisters, Bessie Marie Gillespie, Eva Mae Wall and Edith Fern Hall.
Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Marie Jalbert of Brunswick, Anita T. Vonwaldner of Metter and Jaquelyn K. Jonson of Metter; one brother, Robert Hugh Cooper of Badin N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 2-3 P.M. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022 at Flanders Powell Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3 P.M. Saturday, Feb. 5. 2022 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Bryant officiating.
