Audrey Burnsed

Pembroke-  Audrey Jean Walls Burnsed, age 82 passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  Mrs. Burnsed was born in Coalwood, WV on November 9, 1938 to the late Everett Walls and Hassie Davidson Walls.    Mrs. Burnsed was a homemaker and was formerly a substitute teacher with the Bryan County School System.  She was a member of Sandhill Baptist Church, loved to sing gospel music and enjoy family time and shopping.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burnsed was preceded in death by one son, Mark David Burnsed; three brothers, William, Bruce and Arthur Walls and one sister, Frances Barber.

Survivors include her husband of over 65 years, Joseph Leroy Burnsed of Pembroke; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Steve and Larraine Burnsed of Upper Darby PA, Everett “Joe” and Kim Burnsed of Ellabell and James Leroy “Jim” and Susie Burnsed of Pembroke; one daughter, Mary Frances Schmidt of Pembroke; one sister, Nellie Williamson of Dover, DE and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 10 a.m. until Noon on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Noon, Wednesday, May 19, 2021 in the Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Royce Hendry officiating.  Interment will follow in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
