Mrs. Anita Cooper McMillan, 75, passed away at Southern Manor Senior Living in Statesboro on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Mrs. McMillan was born to the late Gilbert “Sam” Hubert and Ida Pearl Coursey Cooper on November 8, 1943 in Lyons, GA. She worked at Olsten Servcies as a secretary, office manager and administrator; she also worked as a supply operator at Plant Hatch. She was a former President, member, caller and traveled with the Dixie Federation and Georgia Federation Square Dancers. Mrs. McMillan also served as the President of the Statesboro Golden Kiwanis Club at Southern Manor and enjoyed joking and had a great sense of humor.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles William McMillan.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Anne Harmon of Bloomingdale and Mona Jean “Jeannie” Denmark; son, Andrew “Andy” Jay Stallings (Martha) of Pembroke; sister, Judy Avedisian of LaFayette, GA, grandchildren, Karen Anne Privette of Pooler, Joseph “Jad” Alan Denmark, Jr. and Josey Anne Denmark both of Ellabell; great grandchildren, Brett Dylan Rewis of Bloomingdale, Joshua Deacon Privette and Grayson Devin Privette both of Hardeeville, SC.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at Pembroke Christian Church on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Charlie Cooper and Reverend Jim Sullivan officiating.
Burial will follow at Little Rock Baptist Missionary Church Cemetery in Glennville.
