Mr. Andy Coleman, Sr., 89, passed away at his residence on Tuesday morning, November 15, 2016. He was born in Eastman, Ga to the late Andy Coleman and Annie Bell Edge Coleman on May 12, 1927. Mr. Coleman, Sr. served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in France and Italy aboard the U.S.S. Fargo (CL-106) and later retired from the Department of Transportation as a flagman with over 20 years of service. He was Baptist by faith, a member of the John Duggar American Legion Post #164, enjoyed fishing and tending to his vegetable garden.
He is preceded in death by one son, Wade Allen Coleman and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Lynn Crider.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Tillmon Coleman; son, Andy Coleman, Jr. of Pembroke; two daughters, Cindy Threatt and Melinda Chassereau both of Pembroke; four grandchildren, Allen Chassereau, Chance Jacob Chassereau, Andy Allen Coleman and Jessica Vance and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 6 -8 p.m. at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dan Bryant officiating.
Interment will follow at Northside Cemetery.
